1. CUSTOMER BACKUP RESPONSIBILITY
1.1 Customers are responsible for maintaining tested, independent and current backups of all Customer Content, configuration files, databases, keys and application data.
1.2 Snapshots, replication, temporary service copies, and voluntary support backups are not substitutes for off-platform backups unless a purchased backup product expressly promises otherwise.
2. HOSTLY BACKUP FEATURES
2.1 Backup features, if available, depend on the particular plan, storage capacity, configuration and applicable purchased option.
2.2 Hostly does not guarantee that any ad hoc or courtesy backup is current, complete, restorable, malware-free, or retained for any particular number of days.
2.3 Hostly may decline restoration where backups are corrupted, the underlying infrastructure is unavailable, or restoring would be unlawful or create material security risks.
3. END OF SERVICE
3.1 Upon expiry, nonpayment, free-trial completion, customer cancellation, or abuse termination, service data and associated snapshots may become inaccessible and may be deleted without a guaranteed grace or recovery period.
3.2 Any individually promised retention deadline, including one communicated in an authenticated support ticket, remains binding according to that promise and applicable law. No general guarantee is created for unrelated accounts.
3.3 Customers must export data before service expiration. Reinstating an account or paying an overdue invoice does not guarantee recovery after deletion.
4. LEGAL AND SECURITY RECORDS
4.1 Operational, accounting, abuse and legally required records may be retained separately from Customer Content for lawful reasons described in the Privacy Policy.
4.2 Hostly may preserve relevant evidence where necessary for security incidents or legal proceedings and will process personal data according to applicable law.
